This will program the notoriously difficult Yamaha DX7, TX7, and TX816 FM synths via MIDI SYSEX.

Will any of these work with a TX801 by chance?

Post a link to the user manual, and I'll be able to compare the SYSEX implementation and let you know. If they're different, I'll make a new template that does work.

That'd be awesome! Here is a link to the manual: http://www.synthman.com/cgibin/x.cgi/ya ... Manual.pdf

It's the same architecture as a DX7mkII I believe so maybe the sysex is close too?

I Have a TX802 (is that the one you meant?) arriving tomorrow (thanks eBay), so there's definitely a template on the way before long.

Official DX7-II manual is here (802 manual doesn't include SYSEX spec): http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/emi/english/synth/DX7IIE.PDF

Yeah, my bad. I did in fact mean the TX-802. Will check back in a bit. Would be amazing to be able to control that beast with my iPod Touch!

Awesome. I'll make the template for the iPad, but you'll be able to re-size/re-arrange it for the iPod touch.
